Lia Kim ( UI/UX & Graphic Designer )
Lia is a UI/UX and graphic designer with a love for vintage aesthetics. She enjoys film photography and collecting vintage postcards, while recently exploring new passions in coding and caring for plants.
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lia. She spent her childhood in Busan, a big city in Korea. Every year, she would count down the days until summer vacation, when her parents would take her to Bird Island - a small island named for its many birds - where her grandfather lived. Away from the concrete jungle of her hometown, this small island became her sanctuary. Here, she discovered the raw beauty of nature and learned to find wonder in life's simple moments.
In college, while studying Media Communications, she found herself particularly drawn to advertising and film. She spent countless hours with friends, always carrying a camera and frequenting movie theaters, capturing moments and stories through her lens. After graduation, Lia decided to embark on a new adventure. New Zealand, where she went for a working holiday, changed her life forever. Amidst breathtaking nature and warm-hearted people, she felt a familiar comfort - the landscape reminded her of Bird Island from her childhood. This connection led her to dream of a new life there, taking her first steps as a graphic designer in New Zealand.
After four years of growing as a graphic designer, she felt a deeper yearning for design. This passion drove her to pursue another challenge - studying at MDS to become a more specialized designer. There, she immersed herself in interaction design, finding joy in solving people's problems through design with empathy.
As time flows on, she now stands at the threshold of a new path. What stories will fill her next journey?
